Overall we had a wonderful afternoon party with friends and family at a reasonable price.At the Hartford Restaurant Group, we want to say thank you by giving back to our loyal guests through our new rewards program – the BEST loyalty program in the world. They provided everything required to cut and serve the cake. Soft drinks, bottled and draft beer, wine and cocktails, and coffee and tea were available.ĭessert of a very nice cheesecake was included with the lunch but we were allowed to bring our own birthday cake. Drinks orders were handled easily by the servers. The food was delicious and the staff was very good at handling requests about preparation due to allergies or just individual preferences. Vegetarian options were available and the kids ordered from a kid’s menu. The choices for lunch were top sirloin steak, grilled salmon or barbecue chicken with a count provided to the restaurant about ten days in advance. The first two were ok, by definition pretty ordinary, but the other three were EXCELLENT!! Especially the hot crab dip was amazing with really outstanding pita chips! ranch dressings, assorted pizza slices, chicken wings, and hot crab dip with pita chips. This was a luncheon and we ordered some platters of snacks to start: cheese and crackers, veggie platter with blue cheese and. We booked a party for Mom’s 94th, about 30 guests including 6 kids 8 years and younger. Overall, this was a good meal - nice portions at a good price. By the time we were ready to leave, our original waitress gave us a friendly 'thanks for coming'. A single check came from another person whom we never saw again, so we had to flag down another waitress to help. We had asked for split checks, but some miscommunication occurred when I assume our waitress was on break right when we wrapped up our meal. All were very good with the exception of my dad's 'very chewy' clam strips, with which he was not all impressed. Burgers, sandwiches, pasta and seafood were ordered. Two others were offered, but after passing around for tastes, we think one person did not get what they ordered, but the same as another at the table. A good variety of beer, though one that we ordered was found to not be available. There are plenty of options on the menu, including the kids selections and items for vegetarians. Our group of 5 was immediately seated near the front window and a nice waitress greeted us. I was a bit worried by the general neighborhood between the two, but both the outside and the inside of the restaurant is well kept. We were visiting Hartford for the nearby Mark Twain House on a Monday and stopped for lunch after our tour.
